Parent Consultation

I help parents understand and support their gifted and twice-exceptional children and teens.

Do you want to feel more confident supporting your gifted kid without spending hours researching giftedness and parenting strategies?

My consultation services are highly personalized and tailored to your needs and goals. During consultation, I help you clarify your concerns, consider new possibilities, and refine your parenting approach to better fit your particular child. I share guiding principles for raising your gifted child as well as practical tips and strategies you can try right away. After consultation, I share additional resources to help you implement the strategies discussed during consultation.

I particularly enjoy helping parents navigate:

  • A recent diagnosis of ADHD, autism, or a learning disability

  • Intensity and big feelings

  • Anxiety and perfectionism

  • Underachievement, low motivation, or dislike of school

  • School concerns, home-school communication, and school advocacy

  • Social concerns or difficulties finding good-fit friends

  • Parenting challenges specific to twice-exceptional kids and teens

  • Questions about whether their child may be twice-exceptional

To address your concerns and questions, I use a strengths-based lens and I draw on my knowledge about giftedness, twice-exceptionality, child development, mental health, parenting, education, and motivation. You can learn more about my experience and approach here, and you can learn more about my research background here.
